Hobbing, grinding and EDM

ESSETI also manufactures gears and toothed parts. Every day, the precision machine shop is at the customer's disposal to produce components with complex mechanics that require any type of toothing, straight or oblique.  However, we only deal with straight gears, both internal and external, with a maximum length of 50 mm and a maximum diameter of 280 mm. 

Grinding and lapping are finishing departments that particularly represent the very high precision of the mechanics we deal with. We have highly experienced operators and high-level technology, both automatic (with Marposs dimensional and axial gauges) and manual.  We can grind any type of raw, aged or treated metal, as well as some types of plastic and coated components through any type of coating the design requires..  We achieve very high standards and tolerances in terms of size and morphology, roughness down to 0.04. We use the best suppliers on the market for tools dedicated to the department and related measuring instruments.

ESSETI provides EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) services.
It is equipped with 4-axis wire EDM technology with a maximum table size of 600x400 mm, and die-sinking EDM technology with a maximum table size of 650x450 mm, both remotely programmed by our CAD-CAM operators.
ESSETI is NADCAP certified for the special process of electrical discharge machining. This certification allows us to manage this process internally, including machining of components intended for the aerospace sector.
